Morley and Dan meet in downtown at the saloon
Dan: So, how've you been enjoying your time so far?
Morley: It's been great, you know. I feel like I'm always learning something new about this place.
Dan: Join the crowd. I just found out about this bar the other day.
Morley: And it serves local microbrews.
Dan: Yeah. I live for microbrew beer. And it seems to be catching on in Taiwan.
Morley: How could it not! [Kathy arrives] Hey, Kathy!

Jun: Oh my god! The ground is growing red! Is that lava?
Lisa: Yes. This is the world's most active volcano! It's been erupting for twenty years now.
Jun: It's beautiful. But it smells awful.
Lisa: You know all the Hawaiian islands are volcanic, right?
Jun: Of course. I want to take some of this lava home with me.
Lisa: I think you can do that. But ask Pele's permission first.
Jun: The Brazilian soccer player?
Lisa: No, the Hawaiian volcano goddess. Kilauea is her home!
小君：喔，我的天!土地變成紅色的了!這就是火山熔巖嗎?

Sal: We have a good legal case. And President Clinton apologized to us in 1993.
Jun: But will a good legal case and an apology really make any difference?
Sal: Hard to know for sure, but we believe in aloha'aina: love of the land. We'll do what we can.
Jun: So why are you out here today, exactly?
Sal: I'm here to educate tourists like you. Hopefully you understand a little more, now.

A few days later; in a restaurant in Hilo on the Big Island
Jun: What is this meat on the rice?
Lisa: It's spam. Hawaiians eat more spam than any other people in the world!
Jun: Well, it tastes weird. I liked Feather's hemp meat better.
Lisa: We eat eleven thousand cans of this stuff a day! Here, try some of my poi.
Jun: Gross. Kind of like congee but nasty.
Lisa: It's an acquired taste, yes. But it's a staple of the islands.
Jun: What are those people outside carrying signs about?
Lisa: I think they're Hawaiian independence activists. Let's look when we're done eating.
小君：這飯上面是什么肉?
莉莎：是豬肉罐頭的肉。夏威夷比世界上其它民族要吃掉更多罐頭豬肉。
小君：嗯，味道嘗起來怪怪的。我比較喜歡羽毛的大麻種子素豬肉。

小君：好惡心喔。有點像粥，不過很惡濫。
莉莎：是啦，這味道是需要去習(xí)慣。但是，這是島上的主食。
小君：外面那些拿牌子的人在干嘛?
莉莎：我想他們應(yīng)該是夏威夷獨立運動份子。我們吃完飯后出去看看吧。

Feather: I mean it. We need some new blood around here.
Jun: It looks like you're doing pretty well as it is.
Feather: Just imagine it. You'd have the world as a classroom and the earth as your bed.
Jun: But we have a flight to catch in two days.
Feather: So will we be seeing you two goddesses again?
Jun: I'm sure we'll come back. We've had a really eye-opening time.
Feather: I hope so. Take these feathers to remember us by.

羽毛：試著想象一下。整個世界是你的教室，而大地則是你的床。
