A: Thanks for inviting me out today. I was feeling kind of sad. There's nothing better thangrabbing a bite to eatwith a good friend to make you feel better.
B: No problem. It's for your birthday, so it's on me.
A: Oh, I thought no one remembered, but you don't have to treat me. We cango Dutch.
?、?tograba bite to eat
A: I am hungry!
B: So am I, but I only have an hour before my next class.
A: Well, let's grab a bite to eat at that Chinese takeout (外賣(mài)).
?、?go Dutch
My boyfriend and I always go Dutch.(我和男友吃飯經(jīng)常是AA制);The office outing is always a Dutch treat.(辦公室的同事一起出去吃飯往往會(huì)采用AA制)不過(guò)有時(shí)大家也不會(huì)把到底是平攤還是各付各的分那么清楚,所以在比較隨意的情況下,go Dutch / Dutch treat 也能指平攤。
也可以簡(jiǎn)單說(shuō):We'll split. / Let's split.“平攤”還有個(gè)說(shuō)法叫:go halves/halfers,例如:Let's go halves/halfers on lunch today.
A: Let's eat out, shall we?
B:I'm broke. I'vegone throughmy paycheck for the week already.
A: Don't worry about it.It's my treat.
B: You're sure? You're sogenerous!
① I'm broke.
?、?go through
We went through hell while working on this project.(做這個(gè)項(xiàng)目的過(guò)程中經(jīng)歷了煉獄般的考驗(yàn));還能表示“詳細(xì)檢查”:go through the students' papers(批改學(xué)生的試卷)。
③It's my treat.
說(shuō)到今天的重點(diǎn)了,請(qǐng)客怎么說(shuō),這就是最常用的表達(dá)之一。同樣常用的還有:I will treat you. / It's on me.此外再給大家介紹一個(gè)比較少見(jiàn)的表達(dá):I'll shout you.它只用于英格蘭、澳大利亞和新西蘭,所以不要對(duì)美國(guó)朋友講喲~~來(lái)簡(jiǎn)單看段對(duì)話(huà):
A: Do you want to go out for drinks tonight?
B: No thanks,I'll pass. I don't have any money.
A: Come on! I'll shout you!
B: Shout me?
A: Yeah! It's on me.
