From a young age, I’ve had a really deep connection with being outside. I’ve been skiing since I was eight or nine years old. I’ve been on expeditions(探險(xiǎn))in many places like China, Pakistan and so on. But it was in my home country, the USA, that I came closest to death.

It was April 1. I was skiing in the Tetons with my friends Jeremy and Xavier, both experienced snowboarders. That day, I was the last person to ski. They were watching me from a safe area. Suddenly, I heard someone cry loudly. I turned around and saw the whole mountain start to move behind me. It was a massive avalanche(大雪崩). The kind of avalanche that destroys trees, cars, buses, even houses! Tens of thousands of tons of snow were coming straight down the mountain behind me. I felt the snow push me forward, hundreds of meters, and then cover me. It was so heavy that I couldn’t breathe. And then it pushed me forward again and up, out of the snowpack. I looked around, and for a few seconds I actually stopped being terrified. I had a moment to pause and to look at the power(力量) of the avalanche.

I looked down into the bottom of the valley(峽谷). I could see trees that were 30m tall, because I was so far away, they looked tiny to me. “OK, I’m going all the way to the bottom!” I thought. Then the snow pushed me again down the mountain another 450m. I thought the force of the snow would destroy me, it was powerful. But in the end, I felt the avalanche slow down and I just popped(迸出) right out of the snow at the bottom of the valley.

It took Jeremy and Xavier about 20 minutes to reach me. There was a pile of debris(碎片)across the bottom of the mountain 300m wide. They couldn’t believe it when they saw me. I was

so lucky.

Self-check部分。單詞的實(shí)際運(yùn)用,每單元5個重要單詞選擇填空,再讓學(xué)生模擬造句。

編寫者根據(jù)教學(xué)內(nèi)容有機(jī)地滲透了學(xué)習(xí)策略、情感態(tài)度以及文化意識的培養(yǎng)。學(xué)習(xí)策略主要包括:認(rèn)知策略、調(diào)控策略、交際策略、資源策略。情感態(tài)度主要體現(xiàn)在培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)興趣;學(xué)習(xí)動機(jī)與目的;學(xué)習(xí)自信心;克服學(xué)習(xí)上的困難;英語交際中理解并尊重他人情感;合作精神。文化意識包括文化知識;文化理解和跨文化交際能力。

二、學(xué)生基本情況分析:

八年級學(xué)生的英語基礎(chǔ)方面雖然經(jīng)過上學(xué)期的不懈努力,學(xué)生的基礎(chǔ)知識得到了加強(qiáng),大多數(shù)學(xué)生已能聽懂有關(guān)熟悉話題的語段和簡短的故事。能與教師或到互聯(lián)網(wǎng)上就熟悉的話題交換信息。能讀懂短篇故事,能寫便條和簡單的書信。但由于各種因素的影響,學(xué)生整體的惰性還是很強(qiáng),自覺性很差。學(xué)生發(fā)展參差不齊。有少數(shù)學(xué)生因?yàn)榛A(chǔ)不夠好,學(xué)習(xí)很吃力而自暴自棄,有的因此擾亂課堂秩序,這給教學(xué)帶來不少困難。

另外,所教班的學(xué)生在情感態(tài)度,學(xué)習(xí)策略方面還存在諸多需要進(jìn)一步解決的問題。例如:很多學(xué)生不能明確學(xué)習(xí)英語的目的,沒有真正認(rèn)識到學(xué)習(xí)英語的目的在于交流;有些同學(xué)在學(xué)習(xí)中缺乏小組合作意識;大多數(shù)同學(xué)沒有養(yǎng)成良好的學(xué)習(xí)習(xí)慣,不能做好課前預(yù)習(xí)課后復(fù)習(xí),學(xué)習(xí)沒有計(jì)劃性和策略性;不善于發(fā)現(xiàn)和總結(jié)語言規(guī)律,不注意知識的鞏固和積累。

三、教學(xué)總體目標(biāo)

1、學(xué)生應(yīng)有較明確的英語學(xué)習(xí)動機(jī)和積極主動的學(xué)習(xí)態(tài)度。

2、能聽懂教師對有關(guān)熟悉話題的陳述并能參與討論。

3、能讀供七至八年級學(xué)生閱讀的簡單讀物和報(bào)紙雜志,克服生詞障礙,理解大意。

4、能根據(jù)閱讀目的運(yùn)用適當(dāng)?shù)拈喿x策略。

5、能與他人合作,解決問題并報(bào)告結(jié)果,共同完成學(xué)習(xí)任務(wù)。能在學(xué)習(xí)中互相幫助,克服困難。

6、能合理計(jì)劃和安排學(xué)習(xí)任務(wù),積極探索適合自己的學(xué)習(xí)方法。在學(xué)習(xí)和日常交際中能注意到中外文化的差異。

四、教學(xué)具體措施

1、每天背誦課文中的對話。要求學(xué)生背誦并默寫,培養(yǎng)語感。

2、每天記5個生詞,2個常用句子或習(xí)語。實(shí)施:利用“互測及教師抽查”及時檢查,保證效果并堅(jiān)持下去。

3、認(rèn)真貫徹晨讀制度:規(guī)定晨讀內(nèi)容,加強(qiáng)監(jiān)督保證晨讀效果。

4、堅(jiān)持日測、周測、月測的形成性評價(jià)制度:對英語學(xué)習(xí)實(shí)行量化制度,每日、每周、每月都要給學(xué)生檢驗(yàn)自己努力成果的機(jī)會,讓進(jìn)步的同學(xué)體會到成就感,讓落后的同學(xué)找出差距,感受壓力。由此在班里形成濃厚的學(xué)習(xí)氛圍,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生健康向上的人格和競爭意識。

5、對后進(jìn)生進(jìn)行專門輔導(dǎo),布置單獨(dú)的作業(yè),讓他們在小進(jìn)步,小轉(zhuǎn)變中體味學(xué)習(xí)的快樂,樹立學(xué)習(xí)的自信,盡快成長起來。

6、關(guān)注學(xué)生的情感,營造寬松、民主、和諧的教學(xué)氛圍。

7、實(shí)施"任務(wù)型"的教學(xué)途徑,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生綜合語言運(yùn)用能力

8、在教學(xué)中根據(jù)目標(biāo)并結(jié)合教學(xué)內(nèi)容,創(chuàng)造性地設(shè)計(jì)貼近學(xué)生實(shí)際的教學(xué)活動,吸引和組織他們積極參與。學(xué)生通過思考、調(diào)查、討論、交流和合作等方式,學(xué)習(xí)和使用英語,完成學(xué)習(xí)任務(wù)。

9、加強(qiáng)對學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)策略的指導(dǎo),為他們終身學(xué)習(xí)奠定基礎(chǔ)。
