Wasting food is a serious problem around the world. It is reported that up to 2 billion tons(噸) of food get lost or wasted every year. This is as much as half of all the food in the world. The UN Environment Program and the Food Agriculture Organization held a “Think, Eat, Save” program on Jan 24,2013 to help reduce food waste.

China, in recent years, has also experienced serious problems with wasted food. CCTV reported that the food Chinese people waste every year is enough to feed 200 million people for a year. So, Chinese have stepped up their efforts to cut food waste. The Clean Your Plate Campaign began on the Internet in January,2013. It calls on people to reduce food waste.

Luckily, the campaign has got the support of many. In a restaurant in Xinjiang, the owner gives the guests who have eaten all that they ordered a sticker(貼花). People can enjoy a free meal when they have 10 stickers. Almost all the restaurants in China have began to offer smaller dishes and encourage their guests to take leftover(剩余飯菜) home.

However, to reduce foo d waste is a big task, and it needs time. It’s important that everyone does their bit.

Here is some advice on how to reduce food waste.

  1. Do not order too much in a restaurant. Only order as much as you want to eat. If you cannot eat all the food you ordered, take the rest of it home

What do people do with their old, out of date but still useful computers? Most people don't know how to deal with them. Many old computers are put away. Many more are simply thrown away as rubbish.

Finally, some companies are thinking of ways to bring down the number of old computers. Sony has agreed to help recycle old Sony products. Dell, Hewlett Packard and other companies now also take back some old computers of their own brands.

In some countries, laws have been passed, too. Computer companies have to pay for collecting and recycling their used products. And 70% of computer waste must be recycled. The idea behind the laws is that computer companies themselves should pay for the cost. That will encourage them to make computers which are easier and cheaper to repair and upgrade(升級).

Yet many people are throwing away good computers, while others cannot afford them at all. Hundreds of organizations are working on this problem. They collect and repair old computers. Some also teach others how to repair computers. These repaired computers then go to schools, charities(慈善團(tuán)體) or people who need them. Giving a used computer to one of these organizations can turn one person's rubbish into someone else's useful things and cut down waste, too.

  A. One. B. Two. C. Three. D. Four.

  57. What is the main idea of this passage?

Last week, 169 Junior 1 students at No.35 Middle School of Shenyang took their first no-teacher exam. After the teacher handed out the exam paper, he left the room and never came back. A student collected in the papers when the exam ended.

“That test was not only a test of knowledge, but also a test of moral (道德). We wanted to show students how important honesty is,” said Cai Wenguo, the school’s headmaster. The school says no cheating (作弊)happened in the test. Next year, it wants 80% of its exams to be without teachers. But students have different ideas.

“I was happy and excited during the exam because my teachers trusted (信任) me,” said Lang Yudan, a 13-year-old girl in Class 11.

“Schools must trust students a lot not to use invigilators (監(jiān)考人). But I think it is too early. Some students will cheat if there are no invigilators. And the students will not be able to ask for help when needed” said Hua Sha.

“I don’t like having invigilators in exams. When they walk around the classroom, they make me nervous. I would get higher marks without them in the room because I would feel more relaxed,” Liu Qingxi said.

“I think it’s very important to have invigilators in exams. Many students want to check their answers with each other after they have finished papers. And they can also keep the classroom in order when something unusual happens. They may make me nervous, but I still think we need them,” Shangguan Yuan said.

Not using invigilators may be a good idea. But before using it, schools must tell students the importance of honesty and try to find ways to solve something unusual in exams.

  62. The passage mainly talks about ______________.

  A. how to pass an exam B. how to make students honest

  C. whether invigilators are needed in exams D. what a no- teacher exam is

  C. help all the students pass the exam D. find whether the students were honest

  64. From what the students have said, we know _____________

  A. not all of them agree with the headmaster

  B. invigilators are not needed at all.

  C. something unusual never happens in exams

  D. invigilators really help them a lot

  65. In the sentence “And they can also keep the classroom in order when something unusual happens” “they” refers to (指)__________.
