01綜合寫作

當(dāng)我們拿到題目的時(shí)候

01我們首先確定自己的立場(chǎng)/觀點(diǎn)

你心里首先要有一個(gè)答案,至少是確定同意的立場(chǎng)比較好寫,還是不同意的立場(chǎng)比較好寫。這有點(diǎn)像“寫作中的辯論賽”。

02用特定的理由和例子去支持你的回答

當(dāng)你對(duì)一個(gè)觀點(diǎn)提出了自己的看法時(shí),你一定要去證明它的合理性在哪里,為什么這么想。當(dāng)展開全文的時(shí)候,你可以舉例子、搬論據(jù)、對(duì)比論證等等??傊?,在托福寫作中邏輯思維尤其重要。

一般我給我學(xué)生的要求是:至少要找到兩到三個(gè)分論點(diǎn)、兩到三個(gè)角度去證明你自己的立場(chǎng),而且是不可以重復(fù),不可以包含的,也是不可以互為因果的,這是托福寫作對(duì)我們的一個(gè)要求。

這里我為大家找到了一條捷徑,也就是托福獨(dú)立寫作的10大“萬(wàn)能理由”,到底應(yīng)該從什么角度去來(lái)證明自己的觀點(diǎn)。

1、Time/energy

例題你是想要一個(gè)人做事情還是一組人去做事情?

有的同學(xué)會(huì)覺(jué)得,一組人同時(shí)做一件事情,可能是省時(shí)間的。但是也有同學(xué)說(shuō),一組人做事情,很難達(dá)到一個(gè)統(tǒng)一,可能最后的結(jié)果是費(fèi)精力,費(fèi)時(shí)間。不管怎么說(shuō),不管你寫哪個(gè)方面,是不會(huì)影響大家的得分的,這一點(diǎn)希望大家明確,關(guān)鍵是你的理由到底是什么。

2、Money

所有的萬(wàn)能理由,不管同意或反對(duì),都是可以從兩個(gè)方面來(lái)說(shuō)。

錢,到底是帶給我們時(shí)間和精力上的節(jié)省了,還是消耗了我們的時(shí)間與精力,到底對(duì)我們是省錢有幫助,還是說(shuō)其實(shí)是浪費(fèi)了很多的錢和時(shí)間,都是可以從兩方面來(lái)說(shuō)的。

如果是save money的角度,我們看的是我們做一件事情是否經(jīng)濟(jì)化,是否值得做?;蛘哒f(shuō),這件事是不是實(shí)用。比如說(shuō)買大量的圖書,或者參與一個(gè)社會(huì)活動(dòng),哪個(gè)更有價(jià)值,更值得投入精力去做。

如果是waste money的角度。當(dāng)我們說(shuō)到費(fèi)錢的時(shí)候,可能是經(jīng)濟(jì)成本,也可能是時(shí)間成本。

例題航天飛機(jī)是不是值得投資?

撇開個(gè)人相關(guān)性,我們可以考量的是:航天飛機(jī)能夠給公民、國(guó)家分別帶來(lái)什么好處。如果它能帶來(lái)好處,就不能完全算是浪費(fèi)錢,就有可能是值得做的投資。

3、health/safety

health,一個(gè)是身體的健康,一個(gè)是心理的健康。我們認(rèn)為,通常能夠促進(jìn)我們身體和心理健康的事情,一般是好事情,是值得去做的。

比如說(shuō)sports、看書、交朋友或者出去玩,讓我們開心的事情都是促進(jìn)我們心理健康的。運(yùn)動(dòng)、規(guī)律的作息、健康的飲食,它可以給我們帶來(lái)的就是一個(gè)Physical health,身體上的健康。結(jié)交朋友、寫日記、良好的生活習(xí)慣,這些可以給我們帶來(lái)的是一個(gè)mental health心理上的健康。

例題到底是跟團(tuán)旅游好還是說(shuō)自己去自由行好?

這里就可以用“安全”這個(gè)理由來(lái)陳述自己的觀點(diǎn)。

4、relationship

包括了:

network/friends/family/job opportunities

比如有一道:大家做事情,不管是寫作業(yè),或者是以后大學(xué)里面做一個(gè)project的項(xiàng)目,是喜歡一個(gè)人做,還是喜歡一組做?這一點(diǎn)就非常適合這一道題目。

例題你喜歡住在大城市還是小城市?

相對(duì)來(lái)說(shuō)可能大城市帶來(lái)的教育的機(jī)會(huì)或者是職業(yè)的機(jī)會(huì)更多。但小城市,人與人之間往往有一種比較緊密的關(guān)系??梢詮恼?、反著兩個(gè)方面來(lái)討論。

5、knowledge/experience

Gain/acquire/obtain vast amount of knowledge

知識(shí)、經(jīng)驗(yàn)下還包括了眼界、積累、專業(yè)學(xué)識(shí)等

6、ability/skills

在托福寫作中特別常見(jiàn)的比如:

independence、management、communicational skills、specific skills

在目前的這個(gè)社會(huì)條件下,這幾種能力都是非常重要的,是在托福的寫作中經(jīng)常被拿出來(lái)問(wèn)到的。

7、personalities/characteristics

托福寫作中,可能經(jīng)常會(huì)考到leadership, team spirit或responsibility

例題是不是應(yīng)該讓小孩子照顧寵物?

這種題目可能大家會(huì)說(shuō),在小孩子照顧寵物的過(guò)程中會(huì)鍛煉小孩子的一個(gè)責(zé)任感,他就知道該怎么去照顧別人,照顧自己,他現(xiàn)在照顧的是寵物,可能是小狗或者小貓,但是他以后要照顧自己,包括會(huì)照顧父母,這種都可以從responsibility上考慮,也就是我們所說(shuō)的personality里面去抽出來(lái)。

8、relaxation/happiness

如果一件事情它能夠帶給我們快樂(lè),然后我們選擇我要去做,有問(wèn)題嗎,沒(méi)毛病。我選擇這件事情的原因是它讓我很開心,讓我很放松很享受。如果一個(gè)議論文從“是否能帶給自己快樂(lè)”的角度出發(fā),怎么說(shuō)都是有理由的。

9、technology

我不希望大家在寫作的時(shí)候,直接把科技單單的扔出來(lái),這是一個(gè)非常大的話題。我是非常建議大家把總論點(diǎn)細(xì)化到一個(gè)個(gè)分論點(diǎn)。

比如:

公共交通的發(fā)展

醫(yī)療方面的便捷

信息的傳播

生活方式的改變

10、environment

托福寫作里會(huì)有關(guān)于環(huán)境問(wèn)題,比如以下做哪件事情是最環(huán)保的,或者以下哪些事情是人們做了可以保護(hù)環(huán)境的。

在找分論點(diǎn)的時(shí)候,我們可以考慮環(huán)保的意識(shí)。如果我們有這種環(huán)保的意識(shí)的話,我們覺(jué)得這件事情是很值得去做的,包括一個(gè)可持續(xù)發(fā)展:sustainable development。

我們現(xiàn)在就用兩道例題來(lái)看一下大家是不是可以學(xué)著,用“萬(wàn)能理由”找一下自己的思路。

第一題在大學(xué)中運(yùn)動(dòng)和social activities ,這種社會(huì)性的活動(dòng)跟classes and libraries同樣重要。

對(duì)此議題我個(gè)人是蠻同意的,然后我例舉了兩個(gè)sports的好處和一個(gè)social activities的好處。

1、說(shuō)出sports-physical health

我覺(jué)得運(yùn)動(dòng)能促進(jìn)孩子們的健康成長(zhǎng),能讓他們?cè)谡n后有一個(gè)強(qiáng)健的體魄,才能去迎接學(xué)習(xí)。

2、從sports引申sports-team spirit

我覺(jué)得對(duì)于大學(xué)生來(lái)說(shuō),其實(shí)對(duì)于高中生也同樣,建立這種團(tuán)隊(duì)精神是非常非常重要的。在籃球中、足球中,團(tuán)體類的項(xiàng)目可能都會(huì)涉及到與別人合作的能力。

3、就social activities展開論述和看法

現(xiàn)在與社會(huì)上的交流也是非常非常密切的,不管是大家以后要找工作也好,或者是進(jìn)行社會(huì)活動(dòng),哪怕是在社區(qū)里為這個(gè)社區(qū)做點(diǎn)什么事情,這就叫做社會(huì)活動(dòng)。它至少可以讓我們交到很多志同道合的朋友,你們可能有很多話題可以聊。

同樣,我也可以積累一些accumulate experience,哪怕是兼職也好,或者是跟我專業(yè)相關(guān)的一個(gè)實(shí)習(xí)也好,積累的工作經(jīng)驗(yàn)對(duì)我未來(lái)的發(fā)展是非常非常重要的。

最后,再次回到我的觀點(diǎn)做出總結(jié)陳述:我覺(jué)得學(xué)校,尤其在大學(xué)里面,的確是應(yīng)該花同樣的勁去支持sports and social activities ,因?yàn)樗鼈冎匾狞c(diǎn)在于以上1、2、3點(diǎn)原因。

第二題 Parents should encourage their children to do their school work independently rather than help them with their school work.

家長(zhǎng)應(yīng)該去鼓勵(lì)他們的小孩做學(xué)校作業(yè),獨(dú)立的去做,而不是去幫他們做。

The development of society is generated by individual improvement. Considering the pattern of nature, it is reasonable that people should hasten themselves and get things done as quickly as possible. Being quick, as long as not blindingly, can mean learning more and achieving more. This is especially true for young people, who are eagerly preparing themselves a better future. At school, top students are usually the ones who walk at a higher pace and finish their assignment more quickly. Even for adults, in a business world, efficiency is considered to be one of the most important factors for success. Even though quickness is not equal to efficiency, under such extreme competition, only by forcing themselves to hurry up and finish more tasks with the same time can they prove their strength.

It is true that people should try to be hurried and quick, yet occasional relaxation is necessary for everyone. Every once in a while, people should put aside their aim and work, take a slower pace and enjoy their time. Desire is endless, and people are impossible to strive to fulfill every prospect. By taking a slower pace, people can be granted the opportunity to taste the beauty of life and nature. Only by slowing down can we have the moment to appreciate the world around us and discover the essence of life. Furthermore, people who are always in intense activity may not be capable of sustaining the pressure for too long, which might lead to undesirable health problems.

Therefore, being in a hurry and taking a slower pace in life are not mutually exclusive; actually they can promote each other. Taking either way as the only style of living can be dangerous and close-minded. This can be demonstrated by our real live. Most of us would focus on intensive task and try to finish them on time, while afterward, we might take a slower pace on less important things, or even spend time on holidays to enjoy ourselves. During the slower phase, we could get enough rest and become more energetic, thus we could be able to concentrate again on the upcoming important issue.

In summary, for a healthy and vibrant person, it is essential to recognize their relative importance and call for a balance between hurrying and slowing. In addition, we could try to utilize them both properly to make our daily life more exciting and productive.

A summary of the physical and chemical nature of life must begin, not on the Earth, but in the Sun; in fact, at the Sun’s very center. It is here that is to be found the source of the energy that the Sun constantly pours out into space as light and heat. This energy is librated at the center of the Sun as billions upon billions of nuclei of hydrogen atoms collide with each other and fuse together to form nuclei of helium, and in doing so, release some of the energy that is stored in the nuclei of atoms. The output of light and heat of the Sun requires that some 600 million tons of hydrogen be converted into helium in the Sun every second. This the Sun has been doing for several thousands of millions of year.

The nuclear energy is released at the Sun’s center as high-energy gamma radiation, a form of electromagnetic radiation like light and radio waves, only of very much shorter wavelength. This gamma radiation is absorbed by atoms inside the Sun to be reemitted at slightly longer wavelengths. This radiation, in its turn is absorbed and reemitted. As the energy filters through the layers of the solar interior, it passes through the X-ray part of the spectrum eventually becoming light. At this stage, it has reached what we call the solar surface, and can escape into space without being absorbed further by solar atoms. A very small fraction of the Sun’s light and heat is emitted in such directions that after passing unhindered through interplanetary space, it hits the Earth.
