　　discourage的用法1：courage的意思是“勇氣”,前綴dis-的意思是not。discourage的基本意思是“使氣餒,使沮喪”,指人失去信心、失去勇氣,產(chǎn)生恐懼,減少鼓足勇氣的一切力量,主要用作及物動(dòng)詞,其賓語(yǔ)主要是人。

　　discourage的用法2：discourage引申可作“勸阻”解,指對(duì)別人的某一舉動(dòng)進(jìn)行勸阻,希望其能夠接受,但這種勸阻或阻止未必一定會(huì)成功,如果勸阻無(wú)效,則可在discourage前加上want to, mean to, try to等。
