一、 作不及物動詞用時(shí),后跟on或upon引起的短語
1) insist on / upon +動名詞(或動名詞的復(fù)合結(jié)構(gòu)) She insisted on seeing the manager as soon as possible.
He insisted on a second message being sent (不用to be sent) to them.
We insisted upon his staying with us for another week.
2) insist on/ upon+名詞 They insisted on a definite answer.
I insisted on a replacement for the broken part on my bike.
Our English teacher insists upon the importance of the correct pronunciation.
注意: insist on (doing) sth. , stick to (doing) sth.與persist in (doing) sth.的區(qū)別:
這三個(gè)短語都有堅(jiān)持的意思,但側(cè)重點(diǎn)不同。
insist on (doing) sth.是堅(jiān)持某種做法、意見、主張。
如: They insisted on leaving that day. 他們堅(jiān)持要在那天走。
stick to (doing ) sth. 是堅(jiān)持原則、計(jì)劃、諾言、決定、真理、路線等。如:

而persist in (doing )sth.指不作任何改變地堅(jiān)持某事,可能是一件好事,也可能是一件壞事。常包含固執(zhí)己見的意思,但也可指意志的堅(jiān)定。如:

She persisted in wearing that old-fashioned dress.
The old woman persists in taking half an hour's exercise every day. (表示意志的堅(jiān)定,不用insist on來代替)
二、 insist 作及物動詞的用法 insist的此種用法只能接從句作賓語。
1)insist作堅(jiān)決要求、一定要,其賓語從句常用與將來事實(shí)相反的虛擬語氣,即should+動詞原形,其中should可以省略。如:
Her father insists that she (should) learn music after she leaves school. 。如:
Alice insisted that she had done nothing wrong.
3) insist that...有時(shí)與insist on / upon互換。如上面1)、2)中的兩個(gè)例句可分別改寫為:
Her father insists on her learning music after she leaves school.
Alice insisted on her having done nothing wrong.
